Wall rail options for your chosen staircase design

April 8th, 2011

If you have made the decision that you would like to have a wall rail fixed to your staircase, as it goes with the style you have chosen for your home, then there are a number of choices available when it comes to stair parts.

For a start, you can go for a pigs ear, rail in a box or mopstick rail kit. These can either be fitted with brackets or fixed directly onto the wall.

Mopstick handrail kits

When it comes to wall handrails, the mopstick kit is a popular option as it comes with chrome brackets and is quite easy to fit if you are a keen DIYer.

Should you be after something particularly strong and sturdy, then these softwood wall rails do not require brackets to be wall-fitted.

These chrome handrail brackets can also be purchased separately from the handrail kits, should you find you are in need of these stair parts. They are suitable for fixing traditional handrails as well as mopstick wall rails.

Round handrails

The round handrail comes with the rail in a box kit where you also get stylish nickel or chrome fittings included with it too.
