Cut String Staircase in Pine and Walnut

This staircase is off to be delivered to the customer this week. Cut string is a distinguishing style for a staircase; this one features Walnut treads, a gorgeous timber for prestigious style.

Today our customer has ordered a Cut String Staircase with walnut treads. The strings are to be made from 32x240mm Redwood Pine, the treads are made from 22mm Walnut with MDF risers, the newels and spindles are Redwood Pine and the handrail is Walnut.
The right hand string is a cut string which means the upper part of the string is cut away to follow the shape of the treads for a great side profile view.

We have got a few photographs of the staircase from our workshop in the production and assembley stages. Here shows the cut strings with the treads and risers being assembled and fixed together.

You can see here the distinctive colour of the Walnut with it's rich warm chocolatey tones. It is a highly durable exquisite timber and has a beautiful grain.
The customer is most likely going to paint the risers and balustrade but leave the Walnut features enhanced with a clear finish, hopefully we will get some finished photographs as we think it will look great when it's all fitted and finished!
