PHP Developer

We are a fast-growing staircase manufacturer with a fantastic opportunity available to join our team. Working alongside our Senior Developer, we are looking for a full stack PHP developer to support our team on a range of exciting new projects.

Key accountabilities

  • Maintain our existing in house developed systems, learning from them at the same time
  • Implement design changes and new features
  • Fix bugs
  • Support planned and reactive changes

Essential:

  • Strong PHP experience & knowledge (PHP 8+)
  • Strong experience in using the Laravel PHP framework (versions 11+, other major framework experience considered)
  • Experience using front-end JavaScript frameworks such as Vue (other major / known framework experience considered)
  • Strong knowledge of MySQL & HTML
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience writing testable code, automated testing
  • Ability to manage your own projects, through to completion
  • Ability to demonstrate large projects / systems you have previously worked upon
  • Ability to keep software and systems up to date
  • Ability to understand and manage the intricacies of a highly integrated, enterprise-level system
  • Experience with system integration, performance tuning, and security best practices
  • Experience in or a willingness to learn about the specific manufacturing technologies and workflows that drive the business

Desirable:

  • Experience using cloud providers (i.e. Google Cloud Platform, AWS)
  • Experience of the Laravel ecosystem (i.e. Horizon, Forge, Breeze etc)
  • Experience using front-end Javascript frameworks (Vue used internally, but experience with similar frameworks considered)
  • Ability to demonstrate instances where your code has resolved real-world business problems and improved business processes
  • Ability to show examples of your work (i.e. GitHub profile, live projects etc)
